It's shocking!!

Reminded me of this:

Speaking of shocking: Yowza!!

Barbaric my ass. What about FGM and sexual assault being barbaric? We're talking about a continent where AIDS and rape against women, children (and disgustingly even infants) are just completely rampant. I say whatever might work... although clearly there are serious problems with this proposed "solution." Like... what if the woman puts it in incorrectly? Ouch! I'll stop here before my train of thought gets out of hand...

And oh man, just a little while ago they showed some news footage of this beach, I can't remember if it was in Mississippi or Louisiana, but just scattered all over the beach where all these coffins that had been disinterred by the flooding. So horrible and creepy. And they're having to bring in refrigerated trucks to store all the bodies in because there just isn't room in the morgues. Who knows how many people will have died by the time they're able to find all the bodies. Terrible.

An interesting sidenote, I was listening to Glenn Beck this morning and he read a list of all the countries that had offered to help the US with aid for the hurricane victims. There was only one country on the list... Germany.

"If a victim is wearing such a device it may enrage the attacker further and possibly result in more harm being caused"

Geez. Cos women should just lie down and take it, like the bitches we are, right?

I don't know what FGM is. Please explain?

FGM, as in female genital mutilation, a common practice in many African tribal communities, this link from Amnesty International tells you more: http://www.amnesty.org/ailib/intcam/femgen/fgm1.htm

And I seriously doubt that any man with something like that attached to his penis would be capable of inflicting much harm on a woman. He'd probably be too busy running away in extreme pain.

bleh. i had the wonderful luck to have to drive around a lot today and put my gas tank down below a quarter.

$34 to fill a mini. what the hell? *grumble*

then again... i don't have to find a new home that isn't underwater. so i guess i can't complain too much. :-/ i've stopped watching the news-- it's just too depressing.

Exactly, I was on the phone with Em earlier complaining about how I don't have a washer and dryer and it's such a pain to lug all my dirty laundry over to Trev's parents house and then I stopped and said, ummm, well, I guess I shouldn't be complaining about that when there's people down there who are left with only the cloths on their backs.

I wish I could stop watching the news, blah. It's either this or Jewelry Television. Although, I did learn an awful lot about Tanzanite last night.

I was watching a slideshow about the Hurricane, and then I cried :(

Toothpaste for dinner rules, I like this one:

Heh, I have that one bookmarked.
